Girls Cross Country Win DSAC Championship, Boys Finish Second
Led by senior Maddie Priest and junior Helen Socorso, the girls cross country team won their first Diamond State Athletic Conference Championship in school history! 9th grader Alaina Thomas finished 5th while seniors Anna Benner and Peyton Bale rounded out the team score.
The boys finished 2nd to Newark Charter by 6 points. Junior Richie Angiullo captured the individual win with a time of 16:57 over a challenging course at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, DE. Richie was closely followed by senior Camilo Alvarez and sophomore Owen Parsons. Rounding out the top 5 were sophomore Aidan Mahon and 9th grader Colin Phillips.
For the rising stars (JV runners), 9th grader Joey Cilluffo led most of the race and finished 3rd overall. Bubba Wooten, another 9th grader, also finished in the top 10. The JV girls did a great job running together and had four girls in the Top 10. Senior Keeleigh Doss finished 2nd, sophomore Caroline Scholl finished 5th, 9th grader McKayla Hwang finished 7th, and sophomore Natalie Lucas finished 10th.
